Introduction

Welcome to post 1 on the Ozcykler project. After discussion with group members it has been concluded that as a consequence of the range of needs associated with urban hire bikes, the resulting bikes will be noticeably less efficient than bikes ridden by regular cyclists around inner Melbourne at the moment. In order to investigate what sort of issues this may cause I will be taking my 1976 Myer Speed long frame dragster into Melbourne tomorrow to experience public transport, bicycle storage, cycling and the Melbourne lifestyle from the slow lane, with video footage to follow in the coming days.
